New Telemedicine Option and COVID-19 Update

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, Broadway Pediatrics will be taking precautionary measures to help keep our patients and our staff safe. In addition to screening all patients about any potential exposure risks, starting this upcoming Monday, March 16 we will be implementing the following practices as outlined below.

  •  We are enabling telemedicine appointments.  If you have worries that you should be bringing your child to the Emergency Room, or if your child has an issue that can be resolved without a visit to the office, you will have the opportunity to have a video visit with one of our doctors.  To set up telemedicine capabilities on your phone, click HERE
  • Until further notice, only 1 family member or caregiver will be allowed to accompany the patient to any visit. Please call the front desk to discuss any potential issues related to this guideline.
  •  Any patients with fever and cough will be asked to call our office from our parking lot so we can direct them to the appropriate entrance and room number. We will have masks available in the room for the patient and caregiver to wear during the visit.
  •  We will be separating sick and well visits in different waiting rooms via different entrances.  Going forward we will cluster most well visits in the early afternoon.
  •  At this time, we have no capabilities to test for COVID-19
  • We will supply masks as long as we have available but if possible you should bring your own.

We appreciate your understanding during this time. As always, we are 100% committed to keeping you and your children safe and healthy. Please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

“New” Sunday Hours

It has come to our attention that many people aren’t aware that we are open on Sunday mornings… and have been for at least the past 30  years!   We have always stated on our web site that were were available for emergencies but hadn’t specified specific times.  Unfortunately, if you search for our hours on Google that translates to “closed.”  To make our availability more clear and consistent we are officially listing our hours as 10 to 12 on Sunday.

The phone will actually be open earlier, at about 9:oo am, and will remain so until approximately 11:30 am, so please call accordingly.  Bear in mind that Sundays will still be for emergencies (such as trying to make sure your child makes it to school on Monday!) and any chronic problems may be rescheduled for a later date.

Enhanced Patient Portal

As many of you know we have a Patent Portal available which is specially designed for use on mobile devices.  Visit histories are available and forms and immunizations may be downloaded.  Perhaps most importantly, secure messaging is available.   It is a way to communicate with the office staff and doctors which is more secure than email.  However it is not designed for emergencies.  If you need an immediate reply please continue to call the office or our answering service depending on the time.  As part of this messaging service you may also upload files to us, for example forms that need to be completed, rather than mailing or bringing them to the office.

Congratulations, Dr. M!

As you may have seen on our Facebook page we have a new arrival!  Dr. Munteanu welcomed a beautiful baby boy to her (and our) family this week!   Mother , baby, big brother, and dad are all doing well and enjoying getting to know each other.   While we will miss her during her absence, Dr. M. will return later this summer and may even have a picture or two!

Dr. Fallon “Settling in”

It’s been two months since Dr. Jaclyn Fallon joined us at Broadway Pediatrics and we couldn’t be happier.   We already feel as though we’ve known her for ages!  Many of you have gotten to meet her already.  If you haven’t, why not take the opportunity to do so at your child’s physical this summer.  We are already booking appointments for a busy season!

In Memoriam

On October 21st, our very dear friend and colleague Dr O’Brien passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

We cannot express how much she will be missed and how much she was loved.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, called and emailed to offer their condolences. We truly appreciate your kindness.

NCQA Certification Achieved

Broadway Pediatric Associates has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA): Patient-Centered Medical Home 2011 program. The NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. The Recognition Programs were developed to help clinicians and practices support the delivery of high-quality care. The Recognition Programs are built on evidence-based, nationally recognized clinical standards of care. The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home 2011 program reflects the input of the American College of Physicians (ACP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and others in extension of the Physician Practice Connections Program. It was developed to assess whether physician practices are functioning as medical homes and to recognize them for these efforts. The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home 2011 standards emphasize the use of systematic, patient-centered, coordinated care that supports access, communication and patient involvement.
